The Next Stop is the Wilderness

I’m not always confident in my decisions nor the journey. Sometimes I want directions so that I can understand where God is taking me. In short, I want to be comfortable. This toggle between desiring more, but being resistant to guidance comes from the safety net of control. If I am the lead then I can create the path, plan, and journey for my life. The problem with such an approach is that certainty is a facade capable of delaying the destiny I deserve.

My dear friend, to reach the promised land, neither you nor I should be at the helm. It is simply impossible to locate a land designed beyond our dreams. So, today I invite you to let go and lose control.

What I know for sure.

The land of milk and honey is behind the valley, through a couple of rivers, and just after a wilderness designed to shed you of the baggage you’ve carried along the way.

The wilderness changed me. I’ve been rewarded by the dryness of the environment, the stillness of the space, and the time given to reshape my mind. In the desert is where I cried out. It is where I learned to be stronger and wiser using my suffering as fuel to find purpose. The Author leading the way to the mountaintop requires obedience to His word and His way. In the wilderness is where you will find purpose.

Pass the test.

Midway through the process, I realized that I was strategically placed. The discomfort I experienced caused an internal shift. The desert was used for my good when it didn’t feel good. And as the sun began to dim on this place I rose the next morning with intention.

I would now live for something higher than me. Nothing would be spontaneous. Everything would be with reason; adding treasure to the kingdom.

I began afraid and ready to save myself from suffering, but I left changed. I now have patience, craftsmanship, belief but most importantly I have divine direction. Nothing shall be done in vain.

From my heart to your hands; my greatest assignment yet includes a wilderness that changed me forever.
